Hi Oliver,

I envy your freedom to travel hither-and-yonder to "evangelize". But I think you should have to produce at least one hour of screencams for every 1 week of travel, and post them where *all* your customers and prospects can veiw them.

Ray, (I'm guesing you're at the top of the org chart there at DevEx) let me know if you need any help on selling the value of public screencasts before you re-negotiate O's contract ;-)

Yeah, interesting idea... one immediate problem with that is that producing an hour of webcast content takes easily two days of somebody's time - as does preparing an hour's presentation for a conference, but at least that can be delivered again and again. If I personally had the choice, I'd go for a presentation with a live audience every single time.

That said, I don't disagree with you that webcasts are useful - that's why we continuously create more of them. Several people are involved with that, and I think I'm safe to say that the result is actually better that way - think about it, just because somebody has interesting things to say about technology doesn't mean they are great at producing a webcast out of it.

I should mention in addition to my previous comment that we have plans to create more video content - no promises about a time line yet, but rest assured that we see room for improvement ;-)
