XAF RWA – Not Asleep at the Wheel

Hi, you may be wondering what has happened to this series of posts over the last few days. Never fear, I’ve not abandoned you. Simply, I leave tomorrow for LA for some work in the office and then the PDC and I realised that I didn’t have enough time to complete the next cycle before I left. Not to worry though, there’ll be lots of posts from me during my time in LA and as soon as I get back (November 3rd) we’ll get right back on with the next cycle of the RWA.

In the meantime, stay tuned for posts from the PDC. Oliver and I also hope to get some videos “in the can” whilst we are in LA. Don’t forget, the fastest way to keep up with what’s new here is to follow @garyshort on Twitter and if you are a Twitterholic you can keep up with general DevExpress news by following @devexpress.

I'm beginning to worry...

October 26th

(In response to a query about screen shots)

"Sure, tune in after Monday and I'll see what I can do ;-)"

I'm worried.

October 29th

"No, the new ui is for real, the DXHelmet was just a bit of PDC fun. The new UI will ship in 8.3 for sure. As for screen shots, I said I'd do them and I will, but at the moment I'm slammed here at our booth at the PDC. As soon as I catch my breath I'll post the screenshots; just be patient for a little longer :-)"

October 30th

Still nothing but jokes. And they're not even funny.

Hey Linton, I object to that, my jokes are funny! :-)

Okay, to tell the truth I was a lot busier at the booth than I thought I would be and we were in a hotel some distance from the convention centre, so by the time we got back through LA traffic, I was wiped.

Anyway, forget that, it's finished now and I'm back in the Glendale office, before traveling back to the UK tomorrow. So I'll get the screenshots that everyone's been shouting for, done today.

Jeez, you are a tough crowd :-)

Okay, I did laugh at all of the bald-heads, that's funny.

"So I'll get the screenshots that everyone's been shouting for, done today."

Nice!

"Jeez, you are a tough crowd :-)"

Set expectations, communicate expectations, manage expectations ;-)

Hope you all had fun and recruited lots of new customers!

@John The RWA is designed to be a long running process, in fact it will probably never be finished, we'll just keep adding functionality to it as time passes. As such, there is no strict timetable for its progression. Currently, I'm being asked to focus my evengelism efforts in a different area; though, rest assurred, I'll be returning to the RWA when I am able. I'm glad you are following its progress with such interest though, and I look forward to your contribution when I next post on the subject.
