Here's very good news: our plans for the first training classes are moving ahead! We are planning the events separately, so the state on both of them isn't exactly the same. We have a fixed date for the Amsterdam class: November 23-24. There is a tentative date for the Las Vegas class of December 3-4, but we need final confirmation on this.
For the Amsterdam class, we have found a partner in Europe who is helping us with the practical organization details. The company is called Professional Developer Training and it is located in Germany.
If you have any questions about the Amsterdam class, John F. Martin of Professional Developer Training is the guy to talk to from now on - he's American, so his English is quite good :-) You can reach him directly via email at john.martin@professional-developer-training.com or phone at +49-6408-547677, and there is more information on his web site at http://www.professional-developer-training.com.
Signing up for the Amsterdam class is possible through John as of right now.
Finally, we have already sent out emails late yesterday to those of you who replied directly to our email blast a few weeks ago and signaled interest. We need to have a limit on the number of attendees to preserve the interactive character of the class, so please be sure to get in touch with John as soon as possible if you want to sign up.
That's it for now - I hope to be able to give you similar details for the Las Vegas class shortly.
Here's the outline of the first class. We will publish all this in a more centralized location on our site shortly, and you can get further information on final pricing etc. from the Professional Developer Training site.
Class title: Business Apps with DXperience ASP.NET
Objective: This class provides an overview of the DevExpress DXperience ASP.NET suite of products. It takes you through the process of creating a business application with both an internal and an external frontend, utilizing a typical combination of components throughout the product range. A good practical level of knowledge will be achieved that allows you to write similar business applications on your own, and to understand the DevExpress suite of ASP.NET components well enough to flatten any further learning curve.
Who should attend: .NET developers with an interest and some basic experience in creating ASP.NET applications, but little experience using the DevExpress ASP.NET suite of products. The programming language used in the class is C#, but we don't anticipate problems for users of other .NET languages.
Products covered:
ASPxGridView and Editors
ASPxGauges
ASPxPivotGrid
ASPxDataView
ASPxMenu
ASPxNavBar
ASPxCallback and ASPxCallbackPanel from the ASPxUtilities package
XtraCharts
XtraReports
eXpress Persistent Objects
Depth of coverage: The class is an overview and introduction, which touches a large number of products in varying depth. Time restrictions on this two day class prevent us from going into great detail on any single one of them, though.
Format:
This instructor led training class focuses on a step-by-step walkthrough of the creation of a business application for the purpose of car sales. The application includes functionality for both the internal and the external part of such a web site. A further focus is the application of the DevExpress product suites to such a scenario, while the sample application remains feature incomplete from the perspective of a real car sales business.
Hands-on labs are presented throughout the class and questions are encouraged. You should use your own computer during the class. Details about the required setup will be made available later on.
