WinForms Grid Control – Video Tutorials

As I mentioned in my previous post, we have been hard at work over the past few months producing close to 60 tutorial videos for our WinForms Grid Control. The topics have been selected to aid developers in creating and customizing the XtraGrid when implementing it in different scenarios.

You can access a complete listing of all available videos for the XtraGrid on the product’s Online Tutorials page.

Here is a list of selected tutorials that cover some interesting topics and scenarios, but don’t take my word for it… make sure you check out all the videos.

Feel free to drop us a line and let us know what you think of our tutorial videos. If you have a question regarding the usage of the XtraGrid or just would like to see on video how a specific task is done, feel free to shoot me an E-mail: emilm@devexpress.com

When will Developer Express start work on videos for your VCL line of products?

Mark: As with all these kinds of ancillary things (videos, marketing, conferences, etc), the products that sell the most get the attention. Since we want to sell more .NET products, we want to make sure that we have great video tutorial coverage for new customers and beginners. We have, to put it mildly, a long way to go even for .NET products, so I don't anticipate seeing much for VCL any time soon, unfortunately.

Cheers, Julian

Devexpress controls are great, one thing is lacking to be the best among the rest, it's the simplification of data access, just like in componentone true data control, or adodotnet dataextender.Pardon me, is there a feature like this in devexpress or do i really need something like that kind of control? pls. advise. thanks and more power

I am pleased with the download transcript option - will you consider to add the download transcript option to previous videos as well - will it be in all new tutorials?

Definitely a plus for inspiration to the use of not yet utilized features making the use of DX products easier.

Really like the videos - how about a video showing how to provide a user modifiable report based upon an XPO datasource that is can have customised filters applied by the user at runtime.

@Walter:

Thanks for the feeback. At this point, nearly all tutorial videos have the transcript download option. We are reviewing the older ones and adding/updating them.

Moving forward, all tutorial videos such as the ones mentioned in this post will have a downloadable transcript available. :)

@Steve:

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll put that on our To-Do List.

@Emil:

Great news for the older ones. DX service is really convincing in picking up suggestions.
