As I sit here at our booth typing this, the DevExpress CTO, Julian Bucknall, is also creating a blog post about the first day at PDC. He had the advantage of having Windows Live Writer pre-installed on his machine, but a customer has come to my rescue and is keeping his attention drawn away from his blog.
Joking aside, today has been quite an exciting first day for us DevExpress staff as Platinum Sponsors at this year’s PDC 2009. I’ve been at our booth answering WinForms, WPF, XAF as well as general site questions that approaching customers have raised.
I’ll leave the “fun details” for Julian to present via his blog entry and move into my personal interaction with our customers with the hope that some of this information will benefit those who did not have a chance to be present at PDC.
As those who follow my blog might know, we have a project called “DX Airways”. It is a case-study to demonstrate step-by-step usage of both Windows and ASP.NET controls in the Developer Express suite. There has been interest from the community as well as avid followers of the project at PDC to release the source code of the DX Airways project and while it is incomplete, we have indeed released it to CodeCentral along with a Knowledge Base article. The Knowledge Base article can be accessed via K20004 and the CodeCentral Example using E20008.
Another online feature that several customers have praised is our DevExpress Channel and the vast number of training resources it provides to them and their developers. So if you’ve never visited the DevExpress Channel, go check it out and let me know if you have any suggestions and/or comments.
The highlight of the day for us presenters and evangelists was of course that we got a chance to demo some of the new features that’s coming up in the DXperience 9.3.0 release.
