The Gauge

English is an odd language - The person who decided to spell gauge in this way must be laughing at us right now. Each time I look at this word, it makes my head spin.

In any event, though we are still a ways off from DXperience v2008 vol 2, I thought you might like to see a few screenshots of our upcoming Guage control for WinForms. These are rather rudimentary images, but hopefully they'll give you a sense of the direction we are heading in. The product will be named the XtraGauge Suite and Julian will be blogging more about it shortly.

Well, what can I say - most Americans pronounce aunt as if she's a little black animal. I've always wondered what happens when aunts and ants are mentioned in the same sentence.

Weird English language... "He had had to rewrite the sentence because it had had had and he recognized that that had had had been introduced accidentally. --- Previously the sentence had had had had, but then it was changed."

Hm.

Finally gauges. For a dutch man this is a really strange word.

Until now I had to look for other vendors. Can't wait to try it.

What I actually wanted to say, but forgot to mention in my previous comment:

Gauge is a German word too, but we don't have a German pronunciation for it. Sometimes it is pronounced English, most times French.

Oliver and I were just discussing umlauts - in particular what a strange sounding word it is...my metaphor as to how strange it really sounds will have to be kept private :-)

These gauges are absolutely beautiful. They will work well in many applications. (I'm already envisioning a nice dinner at my sales managers expense when I can implement these!)

For at-a-glance dashboard use, I'm hoping that you have also put work into other, simpler, meters with a good data-ink ratio. Sparklines and bullet graphs would be great.
