WinForms Grid - Guess the Feature

The next major release of our WinForms Subscription will include a highly requested feature for our Grid Control.

We've had so many requests for this feature, I thought I'd see who'll be the first to tell me what it is by viewing the following video:

Let see who gets the answer first. :)

Am loving it.  That super smooth scrolling looks amazing and the group headers staying in place is going to be a massive win for me.  10,0000 points to DevExpress :)

January 17, 2013 10:07 AM

Patrick Selzle

Hm .. I love the smooth way the grid content moves. So I guess it's not the header whichs stays on top of the group but the pixelwise movement of the content (instead of jumping row by row).

January 17, 2013 10:46 AM

Dave Hesketh

In place grouping while scrolling - very cool!

Tim Lajaunie

Vertically frozen group rows?!

January 17, 2013 11:35 AM

Ralf Steinbrink

Its a 'static' group header. Displays the current group as header for the group items that are scrolling in/out the top of the screen. This way the group header stays visible.

Really great job guys!

January 17, 2013 11:50 AM

Thank You!

January 17, 2013 2:47 PM

SebastianF.

Hi,

is it the iOS-style scroll behavior? Those headers get stuck until another header hits the top border and moves the previous one out of view.

Anyway, looks nice.

January 17, 2013 2:47 PM

Ben Ark

I'm going with "sticky" group rows that stay on-screen while a group member is visible and that little button that looks like it's for popping to the top of the group.

January 17, 2013 3:06 PM

Alain Bismark

Fetching and discarding data from the server based on scroll movement.

January 19, 2013 9:03 AM

I think it's not my request, but when i red the title I was sure it was the chartview I expect for so long :)

Anyway, looks like to have something about the icon displayed at the right of some data rows. Can't wait to see what you're preparing for us.

Partial row scrolling? Really? THIS is a highly requested feature? Then I guess I really don't fit with the typical DX customer profile.

My app users couldn't care less about partial row scrolling. If I show this to them, first thing they'll ask (again) is why on earth am I wasting my time (and their money) on such things while there's still no way to have a single scrollbar for a master-detail grid!

January 21, 2013 8:20 AM

Michal Moonder

The headers move along with the scrolling motion?

January 21, 2013 10:39 PM

Ralf Warnat

Scrolling without headers and footers. Great !

January 22, 2013 2:40 AM

I don't suppose it could be by any chance a pop-out feature for the xtraGrid?

Smooth row scrolling (as opposed to row by row scrolling) and group row stays visible while at least one of its row is visible ?

January 24, 2013 7:37 AM

smh

expand and collapse groups of rows

January 27, 2013 8:43 PM

Ray Navasarkian (DevExpress)

Everyone - the answer is pixel scrolling :-)

January 29, 2013 2:19 PM

Brian Maxim

I'd have liked to have seen the much requested saving/restoring collapsed/expanded groups and master-detail, natively in serialization
