New Scrolling Performance Enhancements for WPF

We are excited to show our Scrolling Performance Enhancements, these enhancements apply to the WPF Pivot Grid. This performance enhancement was accomplished by significantly improving the scrolling algorithms in this release. The result is the scrolling can be up to five times faster in layouts that contain 300 columns, 1200 rows, and 60 data fields. The performance enhancements will very depending on the shape and size of your data but we are confidant you will see the difference.

Below is a comparison time line of scrolling performance in 10.2 vs 11.1.

We hope you will enjoy the new responsiveness this will give the Pivot Grid.

Nice for SL & WPF, what about scrolling for the grids in WinForms? This item is requested so long ago, please do something about it very soon. Thanks :)!

Sigurd,

Thank you for the feedback, we have made several improvements in the past to the scrolling performance WinForms. We will continue to make improvements as we see opportunity, as you can imagine scrolling performance will always be a challenge because as we make it better larger and larger data will be used. If you can provide a scenario for us to work on we would be happy to start looking at how to improve your experience.

Thank you,

Woody,

Some simple examples:

- with todays touch screens, it would be handy if the xtra grid would take benefit from this also.

- smooth scrolling per pixel, with or without child views. This is actually a big problem for a lot of my customers.

- smoother start and end scrolling when scrolling a lot of records, kinda like on a modern cellphone.

Thanks for taking the time to answer to my previous post!

Sigurd,

No problem trust me we all want to solve as many of our customers problems as we can! I am not sure how much code the pivot grid and the xtra grid share but I will ask the team and we will look in to testing a touch scenario more.

Thank you for the feedback and please let me know if there is anything else we can look in to for you.
