Gantt Chart : How to colour the bars in a gantt chart with different colours

In a gantt chart i want to compare the target time and the actual completion time of a task.If the completion time of a task is less than the target time , i want to colour the bar green. If the completion time is greater than the target time, i want to colour the bar red.

How do i go about this.

    Hello,

To get an idea on how to implement this, please take a look at the following tutorial in our online documentation: How to: Custom Paint Series Points.

Thanks for the reply. It helped. However i have one more problem. The gantt chart shows grey squares as a background image or shadow when the chart is displayed. How do you get rid of the grey squares and other default background shadows. I donot want to show anything in the background.

If I got you right, you need to customize the DefaultPane.BackColor and Shadow.Visible properties. Does this help you?

The DefaultPane.BackColor is set to transparent in the properties window. The Shadow.Visible is set to false.

    Mthulisi,

As far as I understand, you simply need to discard the AxisX.GridLines.Visible property.

     Hi,

The problem is not the grid lines. It only that its not clear from the picture. But if you look at the picture closely from a side you will see discoloured blocks in the background.I can email you the picture if you supply your email address.I think the picture will be more clear that from the forums web page.

    Cheers

    Mthulisi,

Please send the image along with the project to support@devexpress.com. The project is required as I am not sure that we will be able to reproduce this issue otherwise. And, we'll certainly investigate it and inform you about the results.
