Does anyone know a way to loop through the controls inside a template (I use popupeditform), be it a dev's control (aspxcombo, aspxspinedit etc) or a regular one (textbox, etc) ?

What I mean is that this method does work, but its meant to be used as a per-control approach. I would like to have a "for each" loop in such a way I would not have to write a FindEditFormTemplateControl for each control I want to test.

Hi Mehul, the reason I need to loop is that I want to test if they are filled. I cant use requiredvalidatorfield, nor I can use the builtin dev's validators, so I am sending a jscript msg myself to each of the nonfilled fieds/controls in the popupeditform.

I do have a post open there, but I am just following dev recommendation, people around the forum usually recommend to post also on support area, since they have a different purpose reaching different people (support guys), where as here (foruns) I can reach other fellows that cannot answer in the support area.

You might try as Serge suggested on the support issue. Use a usercontrol and embed it in the editform. Then use the findeditformtemplatecontrol method and you can use the .controls property to loop thru the usercontrol's controls. This sample shows how to use a webusercontrol in an editform area:
