From the responsible XAF Core sub team, I know that during the work on the http://www.devexpress.com/issue=S30935 suggestion they found a way to improve the performance of complex Views. Hopefully, these improvements will be committed soon. Anyway, I will keep you updated.

BTW, could you please post a screenshot of a complex DetailView you experienced performance problems with? Possibly, I could get concrete suggestions on how to speed it up in the current version of the suite.

I have already advised Robert above how to improve the situation in the current version of the suite.
The same suggestion is of course applicable to you. I just wanted to add that if you could provide your sample in addition to the screenshot showing a problematic View, that would greatly help us help you.

Xavier recently wrote after trying a recent workaround suggested in the http://www.devexpress.com/issue=Q240326 issue. :

Our own tests also confirm that. So, I suggest everyone concerned about performance of complex Views try this workaround as well.

i cleaned up some of my detailviews today - i deleted every single item in the Items node which was not displayed in the layout - but there isnt a real "boost" now - i think its under 0.5 secs...

As I already mentioned in the suggestion, "It will help you save up to 1 second on opening a complex View". As you may understand, it is not a fixed improvement or magic and usually it depends on your application, but there surely be  an improvement. So, 0.5 second is the mean result in your case and it is also good.
