when you type the first quote it adds two more, you must be having a laugh

my experience of devexpress has been terrible so far, missing basic functionality like auto closing of quotes, and on if block templates you cant jump out of the parentheses to the main block

In fact, CR_SmartQuotes is not written by DevExpress, so there is no point in blaming them. I am author of this plugin and I will be more than happy to fix any bugs that other encounter.

This plugin was tested only in C# and VB. As far as I see, you are using c++. I got similar bug report regarding ASP - VS is autocompleting qoutes out of the box. I am currently working to fix this.

Can you tell me, what version of VS are you using? I tried my VS2005, but cannot replicate your bug?

I must admit, I am really puzzled. I tried various C++ projects and files with my VS2008 and I could not reproduce your bug. I also checked VS settings of C++ editor and there is no settings for autocompleting of quotes.

My guess is that maybe my plugin interferes with some other VS addin that tries to do the same. I know that main competitor of CodeRush has such feature. Could you please disable all VS plugins, leave only CodeRush active and try to replicate this bug?

If bug persist:

-could you tell me what version of CodeRush do you have installed (full or express and version number)?

-could you check if you are able to replicate this bug in c# editor?

strange, this is a fresh install of vs2008. im using 9.33 evaluation edition of coderush, could this be the issue? i downloaded it from http://www.devexpress.com/Downloads/Visual_Studio_Add-in

the same behaviour occurs in the c# editor

I tried evaluation version of CodeRush, but still no luck :(

Last things come to my mind which can help to reproduce or fix this issue are:

-Close all VS instances, delete all community plugins except CR_SmartQuotes and see whether problem persist

If that didn't help

-Close all VS instances, delete (you may want to backup this first) CodeRush settings folder - on my machine it is "c:\Users\ProfileName\AppData\Roaming\CodeRush for VS .NET" and see whether problem persist with recreated default settings.

If problem will still persist, I am out of ideas.

Did any of those steps helped?
