Hi all, I have made a small plugin for navigating the currently displayed text based on an incremental search. The idea here is to reduce dependency on the arrows keys which break the Home position we normally use when typing. Further info in Readme.pdf in the download file.

    Download updated version 1.1 here

I am new to .NET and this is my first plugin ever. Do let me know your views. Enjoy!

P.S. Many thanks to Rory Becker and Mark Miller whose tutorials helped a lot.

Well you are certainly welcome to any help you managed to gain from anything
    I've done.
It's good to see people taking an interest in trying to improve the developer
    experience.
From my perspective, it's nice to be able to code stuff to make my life easier
    for a change :)

As for your plugin... I'm certainly going to check this out...

I'm going to have to think for a little to wrap my head around it, but it
    certainly shows promise :)

    P.S. Are you on twitter?

Thanks for your support. I tend to jump around a lot while coding and got tired of the arrow keys spoiling my typing flow. I was very much inspired by VIM but did not have the time (or guts!) to surrender to its commands. While the Home, End and Ctrl+Arrow keys are great for end point nav, I wanted something which could drill me down to a specific position and so I put up this little thing.

You are right, it takes some time to wrap one's head around this, but I have been playing around with it for a while and now it feels familiar. All I do is look at the pos I want to jump to and start typing the chars coming after it. I added the selection shortcuts later which also enhanced the experience. Hope you find it useful.

Sorry, I am too lazy to tweet, but you can mail me on mpriyank@hotmail.com or Facebook

I have updated the plugin to support navigating all currently visible text with two new actions along with a few fixes. Haven't tested it exhaustively, but it appears to work well. Suggestions welcome...

Updated download link in the first post.
