In the current XtraPrinting version, the Print Preview form displays nothing until the entire document is generated. So, if an XtraGrid contains too many rows, it may take a significant amount of time to generate a preview.
However, we're planning to improve this in the future. We already have this suggestion in our TO DO list (Preview - Immediately display the preview form with a first page (or pages) before all other pages have been generated), and if you want to vote for this feature, please start tracking it at http://www.devexpress.com/issue=AS3017.
Unfortunately, for now there is no possible workaround to this problem. Please wait until this feature is implemented.
