ASP.NET Grid – Horizontal Scrolling

Video: ASP.NET Grid Horizontal Scroll Feature

Check out this 3 minute horizontal scrolling Screencast which shows you one of the upcoming features of the ASPxGridView.

The short Screencast covers the:

  • Old 'Div' workaround for horizontal scrolling
  • New property: Settings->ShowHorizontalScrollBar
  • How to display the horizontal scrollbar

Cool Features! How do I get them?

This feature is coming in the next release of DXperience. The DXperience 2009 volume 1 release is scheduled to be released late March 2009. For you DXperience Enterprise and Universal customers, a beta will be available very soon.

So what are you waiting for? Click the image and watch the video. Then drop me a line here and tell me which DevExpress ASP.NET feature you're looking forward to in 2009.

Great demo! But I would like to see both the Horizontal and Vertical scroll together to see its behavior. One thing that I did not like about the DIV workaround was the way the header and filter bar would scroll out of sight when you scrolled down. I was hoping that with your implementation, they would remain visible throughout the Vertical scroll. Can you confirm this?

The most important improvement I expect is an WinForm HTML control.

Great. But does that horizontal scrolling work with a fixed column (row header) attached?

Are column headers fixed during horizontal scrolling or no?

Hi Steven,

Yes, the column headers scroll horizontally as well.

Hi, is it possible to have the first column fixed?

Hi Peggy,

Yes, it is. I'll blog about it soon but here is an image:
