I saw the video, but I did not see the properties in my property window as demonstrated in the video. Please do mention the Devex version to which this video is applicable

Yes these features are available in the 2009 volume 1 release.

I have fixed the first 3 columns in my grid view. is it possible to allow the user to change the number of fixed columns at run time, like a customization feature depending on how each user wants to view the grid ?

Found a fix. I added a menu item at right click that allows the user to say wether the focussed column will be fixed or not.
