Remember this blog post?

Well, CodeGear released update 2 for both Delphi 2007 and C++Builder 2007 yesterday. That was the good news.

Here's the bad news. This update does not contain the fix for this bug.To quote Nick Hodges from b.p.d.non-tech: "This bug was marked fixed on 24 July, after the cutoff for Update 2. However, it will be delivered as part of the next update, which isn't too far away." To say we are disappointed by this turn of events is an understatement. The next update is most likely to be Highlander, making the release of C++Builder 2007 a complete and utter waste of time for both our customers and ourselves.

UPDATE: We've now confirmed that Update 2 for C++Builder does contain the bug fix and Build 27 of our VCL Subscription Suite does work with C++Builder 2007 with Update 2.

Sorry to be a pain in the butt, but due to this development, might you reconsider continued support for BCB6?

To be honest, I don't know why I updated to C++Builder 2007 - I haven't even been able to use it!!

Best regards,

Martin.

Obviously we can't drop any support for BCB6 yet, not until we can at least support the latest C++Builder. I wouldn't worry about that just yet. The next build may be just an interim build to add support for CB2007, and it'll be that one that will be the defining build for the old compilers.

But who knows what will happen?

Cheers, Julian

This Codegear blog post: blogs.codegear.com/.../38123.aspx mentions an Update 3 "coming soon".  Hopefully that will include this fix.  The very first comment on that blog post is also about this issue.
