Introducing WinForms PDF Viewer (coming soon in v2013.1)

In the upcoming v2013.1 release, we will introduce a brand new PDF Viewer control for WinForms. Built from the ground up, PDF Viewer will let you view .PDF documents within your WinForms applications without the need to have external plug-ins installed.

Note: PDF Viewer will be released as a beta. We are still working on some critical features like text selection and forms.

Without doubt, with the recent additions,

DX Winforms set a very high benchmark for all

winforms suites at the market

(it was already).

PS. to make the suite complete, please add a

org hierarchical control (diagram component)

You are on fire with the WinForms; keep it up!

It's always nice to great new features, but don't understand the real value here. Everyone has Adobe or another free viewer installed and Windows 8 can open PDF by default.

This is great news.

Thanks for all the work on the Windows Forms stuff, for too long have we felt like second class citizens. Now all I need is a SFTP client from DevExpress and all my eggs will truly be in one basket.

@Leon Meijer - The value is having the pdf document UI embedded in your application.  It takes time to spin up a new acrobat process when someone wants to view a DPF based report.  It also introduces dependencies.  The system requirements for an application you are trying to sell look MUCH better to customers the fewer external application requirements they list.

And why no WPF version?

Will the viewer support find/search and highlighting words?

@Leon Meijer - +1 Bradley, also look and feel and control. Trying to automate external viewers is not easy. Clients can also change their preferred viewer which can break your app.
