WinForms and WPF Spreadsheet Control - Conditional Formatting Enhancements and Rotated Text Support (Coming soon in v17.1)

Thinking Out Loud
24 April 2017

Our upcoming release will include a couple of enhancements for both our WinForms Spreadsheet and WPF Spreadsheet controls.

First on the list is a new Conditional Formatting Rules Manager. As you can see in the image below, once v17.1 ships, you can allow end-users to add new formatting rules, modify or delete existing rules applied to a selected cell range or the entire worksheet.

WinForms and WPF Conditional Formatting Rules Manager

Since the core functionality of the Rule Manager replicates the capabilities available in Microsoft Excel(R), I'm not going to dig too deep into its feature set. Suffice it to say, you'll have a wide range of options at your disposal - from setting rule priority, to rule processing logic (via Stop if True).

In addition to the new Rule Manager, DevExpress Spreadsheet v17.1 will ship with Rotated Text support. The virtues of the feature are self-explanatory...

WinForms and WPF Spreadsheet Rotate Text Support

Much like Microsoft Excel, our .NET Spreadsheet Control ships with a rich set of text rotation options as is illustrated by the following image.

One important note is that print/export to PDF will support rotated text printing.

As always, we'd love to get your feedback on these new features - let us know what you think.
