Looks like the Visual Studio 2005 SP 1 has been released.

Microsoft Download

As Somasegar's says in blog post:

"We released Visual Studio 2005 Service Pack 1 earlier today.

This Service Pack addresses a range of issues that were found through customer and partner feedback as well as our own internal testing.  Many of these issues were reported by you and I thank you for taking the time to report them to us.  The release also adds a number of customer requested functionality and enhancements to some of the most common development scenarios to Visual Studio that I think you’ll find interesting and valuable.

For developers using Windows Vista we also released a beta of the Visual Studio 2005 SP1 Update for Windows Vista.

You can find out more about both of these releases here."

Ahhhhhhh... The Visual Studio 2005 SP1 Update for Windows Vista Beta link seems to be broken though and you need this after installing SP1 on Vista. If anybody knows of a live link can you post it here.

Thanks for the link. I downloaded and had trouble installing but figured that I had to uninstall the SP1 Beta first by running "VS2005sp1beta.exe /uninstall". This was not mentioned on the MS-KB page and hope this helps others with SP1 Beta installed.

The new VS2005 version should be Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 should contain this in the About box:

Version 8.0.50727.762  (SP.050727-7600)
Microsoft .NET Framework
Version 2.0.50727

Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Professional Edition - ENU Service Pack 1 (KB926601)
This service pack is for Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Professional Edition - ENU.
If you later install a more recent service pack, this service pack will be uninstalled automatically.

Geoff, I need the same beta for Vista, but they have changed the link to 'coming soon'.

Mehul,

Yes, apparently MS are working on the Vista Beta and I don't think it's going to be released until Q1 2007.

I've installed VS2005 SP1 on Vista and all I get is a nag screen telling me that I need the Beta with a checkbox to supress the message. I haven't come across any problems as of yet but I reckon some functionality is probably missing.
