Holiday Greetings from DevExpress

ASP.NET Team Blog
24 December 2007

Our design team has been busy lately. We've just updated our website with a new cleaner design. The website has a cleaner look now with the use of rounded panels, a more streamlined menu and easy to find buttons for downloading and purchasing. Of course, DevExpress ASP.NET controls were used to design this great look:

Just for you we've created a special holiday theme. Check it out on our homepage below:

Thanks and happy holidays!

This looks pretty cool! Is it available to subscription users? I don't see a link to download it.

Thanks!

Gary

Gary,

Thanks. Unfortunately this isn't a skin that you can download. It's the new look of our main website. However, many of our asp.net controls have been getting more AutoFormats with each release. For example, check out the Soft Orange, Black Glass or Red Wine look:

The Look&Feel is much sharper and cleaner. Fonts are better to read. It looks more "Distinguished" than before!

Mehul, have you guys tested the new site with FireFox. It renders strangely. For every page it first renders to the right of screen (if you are in high resolution) and then after the render, shifts to the middle.

Under IE7, some pages behaves as if the full pages was being re-render with AJAX and some other pages, renders the old fashion way, when the whole page clears and then refreshes.

Just thought to give you some feedback! Happy New Year to all DX staff!

Thanks Gary and Ben.

Ben, The Firefox loading is specific to the FF rendering engine and we'll look into it. Luckily, it's only for a second before the page loads. :-)

As for IE7, we're not using any AJAX but we'll keep it in mind.

Thanks for the feedback!

Hi Mehul;

But prior to this update, it never did this before and I have not seen other sites the behaves that way. It doesn't bother me, I just  thought to let you know. But as far as IE7, the page painting is not consistent,

Happy New Year!
