In this release cycle (v23.1), we will do our best to address rendering engine limitations (please refer to our v22.2 post for more information on our new rendering engine). This update will also improve the overall user experience of our Office File API product line on non-Windows platforms. We expect to deliver the following functionality in June 2023:
In addition to these new features, we will explore ways to use the products included in our Office File API package within Blazor WebAssembly and .NET MAUI apps.
Word Processing — Embedded Fonts

We plan to add embedded font support in our word-processing products. Font embedding allows you to include font files within a document (so documents can be viewed and printed on any machine, regardless of font availability on the target computer). As you know, embedded fonts will eliminate the need for font substitution (which can produce formatting errors and unexpected changes to the appearance of the document). Documents with embedded fonts will be displayed, printed, and exported to PDF. Our new API will allow you to specify whether to embed fonts within the file itself.
Word Processing — Rotated Text in Tables

We expect to add rotated text support within text boxes and table cells. You will be able to specify text direction in code (in addition to UI display and print output, you will be able to export rotated text to PDF).
Spreadsheet — Chart Enhancements

We expect to add threaded comment support in our Spreadsheet product line. As you know, threaded comments allow multiple users to add thoughts and opinions within the document, improving collaboration and facilitating discussion among team members.
