New Features/Capabilities We Will Release in 2021
New Chart Control
We expect to officially release a new VCL Chart Control in 2021. As you know, the QuantumGrid has offered a Chart View for a number of years. When we release DevExpress Charts, it will include all the functionality of our VCL Grid's Chart View along with the following:
- Multiple axes in diagrams (DS4238)
- Support for X-Y charts of two sequences of values (S91108)
- The ability to display multiple diagrams in a single chart (AS16671)
ExpressQuantumGrid Enhancements
We hope to address performance bottlenecks throughout the year. Specifically, we will introduce the following performance enhancements in 2021:
- Optimize detail expansion algorithms
- Optimize detail data loading algorithms
- Optimize grid export algorithms
- Optimize grid printing algorithms
We also expect to complete the
Custom layout for data rows (
T845963) and release a new:
Fixed Columns for Table View (
T819568) option.
ExpressGantt Control Enhancements
Our VCL Gantt control will be updated with the following new features/capabilities:
- Recurring task support (T974362)
- Task baselines (T951705)
- Timescale customization options (T956605)
- Drag-and-drop task operations (T949852)
- Custom field support (T957931)
- Store control settings between runtime sessions (T967077)
ExpressPDFViewer Enhancements
We will continue to refine our VCL PDF Viewer and its file management capabilities. New features/capabilities will include:
- Ability to manage PDF document pages and save changes (T408004)
- Support for PDF interactive form data import and export (T845924)
- Ability to create visible digital signatures in PDF documents (T951629)
- Ability to edit interactive forms in a PDF document (T408315)
ExpressSpreadsheet Performance Enhancements
We plan to rewrite algorithms to help improve the overall performance of our VCL Spreadsheet Control. Enhancements will include:
- Optimized loading for large Excel files
- Optimized best fit calculation
- Optimized memory usage
