What’s New in v8.3: SharePoint, Gauges, Section 508/WAI, & New ASP.NET Controls

The next major release of DXperience and the ASPxGridView & Editors Library includes new controls, features and support for SharePoint! Here's the full list of juicy newness for ASP.NET:
SharePoint Support
New controls, WebParts, and sample solutions to help SharePoint developers integrate the ASPxGridView and ASPxHtmlEditor into SharePoint projects.
Section 508 / WAI support
The ASPxperience Controls include support for Section 508 / WAI. More to come on this later.
ASP.NET Gauges
ASPxGauges – Big, beautiful Gauges for ASP.NET! Check out these stunning preview images.
New Controls
ASPxBinaryImage – A new control for displaying an image directly from database. Check out the introductory video that shows how this control works.
ASPxFilterControl for ASP.NET – Filter the ASPxGridView using complex filter criteria. To see a preview of this control, check out the ‘Introducing The Filter Control For ASP.NET’ video. The ASPxFilterControl will be integrated into the ASPxGridView. A standalone version will also be available as an ASPxEditor.
ASPxLoadingPanel – A new control that is similar to the loading panel in many of our ASP.NET controls. This new standalone control can be customized, work in modal mode, supports client side events and works with any callbacks. Check the ASPxLoadingPanel Introduction video.
New Features
ASPxHtmlEditor
- Copy/Paste From Microsoft Word – The HTML editor now supports pasting from a Microsoft Word document into the HTML editor.
- Printing – Print directly from the HTML editor’s toolbar. Here’s a screenshot:
ASPxUploadControl
ASPxEditors
- Validation for ASPxEditors – Customizing the error frame layout and the validation summary is easier with this release.
- Tooltip property for each button in ASPxButtonEdit
ASPxperience
- Localization for all ASPx controls
- New DevExpress solutions for SharePoint (WSS 3.0, MOSS 2007)
- Optimized page loading speed (with ASPx controls)
XtraCharts
- Charts with logarithmic scales, bubble charts, and Fibonacci indicators (Julian gives the low down on these features soon).
The 2008 Volume 3 release is jam packed with a ton of new features and controls for your ASP.NET websites. If you’re anxious to try these features and controls then look for the beta release which will be out very soon.
