Voice in TextFields in CodeRush for Visual Studio

Voice features are available inside TextFields in Visual Studio, which can be created by CodeRush templates and refactorings like Rename or Introduce Local. Voice features are also available inside TextBoxes throughout Visual Studio.

Voice in TextField and TextBox features are triggered with the right Ctrl key. Make sure you've set up voice features first.

In general, CodeRush has a sense of what is expected (new identifier name, type reference, expression) and the desired naming format if it's a new identifier.

To use voice inside a TextField or TextBox, just hold down the right Ctrl key and start speaking.

As you speak, CodeRush provides visual feedback showing voice levels and revealing what kind of content CodeRush is expecting.

Release the Ctrl key when you are done. CodeRush will enter the spoken text, formatting it as necessary to match expectations.

For example, when executing the Rename refactoring, CodeRush will remove spaces and punctuation, capitalize words, and add underscores (if needed) to match the format of the identifier being renamed.
