First and foremost – thank you for placing your trust in the DevExpress .NET MAUI component suite. We appreciate the opportunity to serve your mobile development needs now and into the future. In this roadmap, we will outline .NET MAUI-related release plans for the first half of 2024 (v24.1).

New TreeView Control

We expect to ship a TreeView so you can display hierarchical data within your .NET MAUI-powered mobile app with relative ease. Our .NET MAUI TreeView UI component will allow you to search/filter tree nodes or implement navigation menus with expandable items.

New Slide View Control

We’re working on a Slide View (also referred as a Carousel View) – a common element in mobile interfaces used to implement simple navigation with left/right swipes. Here are the features we expect to ship in v24.1:

  • MVVM Support: ItemsSource and CurrentItem binding
  • Horizontal/Vertical Orientation
  • Item Caching (None, OnDemand, All)
  • Looped Navigation

Scheduler Control

Agenda View

Since streamlined data representation is critical on mobile form factors, we expect to ship a compact Scheduler Agenda View in our v24.1 release cycle. With it, you’ll be able to display appointments within a simple list (the Agenda View will hide empty time slots to save the screen space).

Scheduler – An Option to Disable Swipe Actions

Through inquiries made via the DevExpress Support Center, you asked us to provide an option to disable navigation to next/previous dates via left/right swipes. In v24.1, we will add a property to control this behavior.

PDF Viewer

PDF Signatures

We’re working on extending our PDF Viewer capabilities and in v24.1, we expect to support dynamic signatures. Your users will be able sign a PDF document using the following procedures:

  • Tap a button to select a signature from a predefined list.
  • If no signatures exist, a user can draw a new signature.
  • Drag the selected signature to the appropriate document region.
  • Resize the signature.

PDF Annotations

Your users will be able to collaborate on PDF documents by highlighting text, leaving graphic and text annotations in our PDF Viewer.

PDF Acro Forms

As you may know, the PDF format supports Acro Forms (allowing you to incorporate edit forms into PDF documents). Currently, you can use the DevExpress Office File API library to populate PDF Acro Forms programmatically. In v24.1, your end users will be able to edit Acro Forms directly in our PDF Viewer.

DevExpress MAUI Scheduler Agenda View

With v24.1, you will be able to invoke the default print command and send a PDF document to a printer whether it’s connected via Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, or other technologies.

PDF Interaction — Selection & Tap Handling

We will extend our mobile PDF Viewer’s interaction capabilities and allow users to select and tap elements within PDF documents. The PDF Viewer’s APIs will allow you to execute custom logic when these actions are executed.

HTML Editor — Markdown Import & Export

In v23.2, we shipped an HTML Editor with the ability to format text, create lists, insert images and much more. At present, the control accepts and stores data as HTML. With v24.1, you will be able to use markdown as an input/output format for the editor.

Toolbar Popup Menu

In v23.2, we introduced a mobile Toolbar Control. In our next major release, you will be able to create toolbar popup menus similar to iOS Edit Menus.

Accessibility-related Enhancement

As you may know, iOS and Android operating systems include accessibility features named VoiceOver and TalkBack. Both are designed to help people with vision impairments (to interact with the device itself). These features rely on automation information (provided by a control) to navigate through control elements and read values. We expect to overhaul the structure of this information to improve navigation when using VoiceOver and TalkBack.
